Decorating a nursery is one of the most important things to do when expecting a baby. It can be equal ly exciting and overwhelming. There are a myriad of themes to choose from ranging from classics like ‘Winnie the Pooh',  ‘Aladdin' and ‘Sesame Street' to more modern themes like Pretty in pink, glamour girl and Nascar rally themes. Narrowing your choices down to one is part of the fun in the decorating process. There are many factors to consider while making a theme choice, sex of the child, budget, and personal tastes, to name a few.  Your nursery theme when you were a child would be a good place to start when looking for inspiration.

A fabulous theme for your baby house would be Peter Rabbit nursery decor.  Remember growing up with Peter rabbit and his three siblings? My earliest and fondest memories are of my mother reading his adventures to me. Besides bunnies being the cutest and most adorable creatures on earth, they have one advantage over many of the cartoon character deco themes. They are gender neutral. For parents who do not know the sex of their unborn baby, a Peter Rabbit theme would be perfect. No likelihood of painting a room pink to have a baby boy!

A Peter rabbit nursery decor theme would also be a good idea as it is not as common as most nursery deco themes. One of the most popular themes today is Winnie the Pooh. But who wants to be ordinary and follow the crowd? However, as Peter Rabbit is not as popular as Winnie the Pooh, there is a price to pay. Finding deco items will not be the easiest thing. Most stores no longer carry Peter Rabbit nursery decorthemed items for obvious reasons. Finding these items would be part of the fun. A good source for hard to find items to be eBay and internet sites of its ilk. Improvisation skills will stand you in good stead.  Basics like the bassinet and wall colors will be easy to pull off. The beddings may be a different story. Any rabbit themed bedding should do the trick. Plus, you could add a Peter Rabbit or look-a-like Peter Rabbit stuffed toys as a finishing touch.

Nursery decorating should not be a chore, so go ahead and have some fun with it. The baby will not be too fussy about his room, at least not until he is several years old.
